How We Work
Athletes Gone Global offers four tiers of support, each built around a different level of need. Every tier includes our Japan Rugby Cultural Guide — a comprehensive document covering everything from ward office registration to rugby team culture, built from real experience so you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Choose the level of support that fits your situation. Pay 50% to get started and the remaining 50% once you’ve been connected with a club.
All pricing is in Japanese yen; CAD amounts are approximate.
Tier 1 — Connect — ¥180,000 (approx. CAD $1,600)
For athletes who know what they want and just need the right door opened.
- Personalised matching to the right club based on your level, location and goals
- Direct outreach and introduction to the club, in Japanese
- Active facilitation of your initial communication with the club
- Japan Rugby Cultural Guide — ward office, SIM cards, transport, team etiquette
- Clean handoff upon successful onboarding — your journey begins, ours steps back
AGG facilitates introductions only. Any agreement with a club is made directly between you and the club.
Tier 2 — Settle — ¥290,000 (approx. CAD $2,550)
For athletes who want club introductions plus real help finding a home in Japan.
- Everything in Connect
- Custom accommodation sourcing matched to your budget, duration, visa type and lifestyle
- Direct communication support with landlords and housing providers in Japanese
- Japan Housing Guide — vetted platforms, upfront costs, the guarantor system, what to avoid
AGG is not a licensed real estate broker or guarantor. All leases, deposits and rent are handled directly between you and the provider.
Tier 3 — Land — ¥520,000 (approx. CAD $4,600)
For athletes who want full preparation before departure and hands-on support on arrival.
- Everything in Settle
- Pre-departure call — a full briefing before you board the plane
- A full day of in-person settlement support on arrival — ward office registration, phone plan, bank account — wherever in Japan you’re based
- 2-week post-arrival check-in call
- Active support through your first three months
In-person support covers one scheduled day, usually a weekend. Additional days are available at a flat rate — we’ll go through this on your call. If your accommodation is already arranged, that time is redirected to other settlement needs.
Tier 4 — Full Support — ¥850,000 (approx. CAD $7,550)
For athletes and families who want ongoing peace of mind for the whole stay.
- Everything in Land
- Active support extended through your first six months
- 2–3 scheduled check-in calls per month
- An in-country contact for the unexpected — messages answered within 24–48 hours, plus a priority line for urgent issues
- Ongoing cultural navigation — understanding why things work the way they do, not just what to do
- Occasional in-person meetup, scheduled around both our availability
The priority line is for urgent situations, like lost documents or problems with your accommodation. AGG is not an emergency service. In a medical or safety emergency, call 119 (ambulance) or 110 (police) first. Everyday questions go through regular messaging.
